I've been sick over the last few days. I'm pretty sure I caught the bug from these two crusty nosed kids behind us in line at the movie theatre on Boxing Day. Their father had brought them in their pyjamas to the movies. I noticed them hacking up their lungs behind us, their snot lined noses bubbling and I told Vivi to move in front of me, because, "Those kids are a bit sick." I said this loud enough for their Brit dad to notice and ask them to stop coughing, which only made it worse.
All I can say is, not all British people are classy or good at taking care of children...no matter how many times you watch Mary Poppins.
So, the last few days, I've tried being kind and creative from the couch. I've managed both. Yesterday, I wrote a blog about mental illness (which I count as a kindness too). The day before that, I took some photos and a video.
Here's one of the photos:
I was very kind to both my daughter, Mike and the dog most days.
Today, I read A. A. Milne poems aloud for Vi (another kindness) and I edited the video a bit and put it on youtube.
Mike and I saw on MTV the other day (I was watching Teen Mom 2, cause that's how us upscale people roll), that Electric Circus is coming back for one night on New Year's Eve 2011. Now Mikey loved the whole club scene in the 90's, all that horrible kitsch. So, I did this little "audition tape" for him. Although, as I say on the YouTube blurb, he would only do it if the folks at EC could teleport him back to the 90's for one night. At this point, Mike is, as Chris Rock said, "…just a little too old to be in the club."
